SHORT COURSE
Start time 10.15am, at Mount Holdsworth car park
Stage one:
400 metre run
21.3km cycle to Chester Road intersection and back to car park
Stage two:
5km run to Donnely Flat, along a terrace, out towards Winzenberg and back to carpark. (The usual 5.2km run - Donnelly Flat loop twice & back to car park and back to car park run is not available this year due to track maintenance.)
Stage three:
21.3km cycle to Chester Road intersection and back to car park

LONG COURSE                                             

Start time 10.00am, at Mount Holdsworth car park                                      

Stage one:
400 metre run

45km cycle from car park, to the Haringa loop and back to the car park
Stage two:     
10.2km mountain run:  Atiwhakatu track to Mountain House               

Stage three:
21.3km cycle to Chester Road intersection and back to car park                             

Race Rules

  • All competitors must attend race briefing at 9.45am.
  • All competitors must have gear checked at registration.
  • Any pre-existing medical conditions need to be advised to race officials before the event.
  • Keep to marked trails within the forest park.
  • Give assistance to others if required.
  • Obey all instructions from the DOC Rangers and event marshals.
  • Ensure any rubbish taken in is taken out.
  • No dogs.
  • Advise race officials if unable to complete event.


Race referees reserve the right to withdraw any competitors who do not comply with these rules or who are deemed to be at risk.


Recommended Gear

The safety of our participants is important to us. For this reason we recommend every participant carries certain minimum clothing and safety equipment.
Each competitor should carry the following:  Weatherproof parka, thermal gloves and hat, polypropylene or thermal long sleeve shirt, water and a first aid kit.  Examples of appropriate gear will be available at registration.

Each participants gear will be checked by race officials at registration.  Race officials reserve the right to refuse entry and disqualify any competitor who does NOT carry appropriate gear.
